The Client
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program is federally mandated and administered separately by 90 agencies, covering each State, Territory, and Native American tribe. The Food and Nutrition Service’s (FNS) State Agency Model (SAM) creates a highly configurable system that allows WIC agencies to tailor the functionality based on their specific environment, policy, and procedure while achieving decreased total cost of ownership.
The Challenge
HTC Global Services had been partnering with agencies for many years, in implementing several WIC programs. Thus started the journey of building the consortium’s WIC information system.
The scope of the project was to design, construct, and implement the system in all states, giving accessibility across devices for users while offering flexibility and scalability to agencies.
